Cumberlek's Jouney in Peeam 4

Dear PM fourians.

I shall start by saying my Peeamfoourian terminology is horrible. (so do forgive me for it. =p)

Well, i't's been awhile since i've written anything anywhere, joined group events with you guys and actually had a decent chat with generally a lot of people in the class. Yet, class had officially ended, and i'm left here wishing it wasn't over.

I shall declare a few of many things.
1. You guys were the most awesome classmates i ever had in my entire life. By far. You were all so welcoming to one another, always open to helping one another and cooperative.

2. I do wish class never ended so fast.

3. I can tell you TAYMUN would not have been a success if i was placed in any other class other than PM4, simply because i wouldn't have got 90% of the class to join the club and i also wouldn't have gotten such commitment from a huge group of people. Never did i imagine when i wrote that petition letter requestion you guys to join TAYMUN that i would receive such an encouraging feedback in return.

While i was spending my last day with all of you guys i realized how much i've missed out on in the last couple of months for i was so sucked up with myself and my personal agenda. You can pretty much say my presence in class was almost just to attend classes and to do nothing else. I failed to strengthen my friendship bonds with many of you, failed to come across as a warm and friendly guy as i once was and definitely failed to even seem like i was part of the class. For that i sincerely apologize.

Since it is all over now, i guess there's no point looking at the past but instead look towards the future. All of us wil be scattered across the world but hey, in addition to that wonderful idea of that "BOOK", i'll offer my suggestions. ( i may no longer hold any presidential posts to advocate and have the final say over stuff, but i still can suggest. =p)

1. A once a year class meet is definitely very possible. Especially between the months of June- August during our summer holidays. And hey, it's just a day. It's really possible. I can almost assure you that in 10 years time, most of us would be so busy with our lives that we would hardly remember each other, or even make an effort to meet up knowing very well that some of us might not return to this country.

2. the Facebook group to me is the most VITAL communicating tool. I mean come on, there's nothing that beats the internet nowadays, not even snail mail. =p. the one problem about the group which has made it such a lousy communicating tool is that posts on walls do not SAMPAI to the members. Instead, we should just publish a random event and invite all PEEAMFOURIANS TO GRAB THEIR ATTENTION TO CHECK the group once in a while. =p. Thus, the role of the officers of that group become very significant. As much as i like the idea of the book, i have a very bad feeling that it will one day go missing.

I will end by thanking all of you for being such wonderful people and personally sharing what i wish and hope to do in my future so that you will get to know me a little better than what you have in this year and a half.

To start with,
I will choose the road more often taken by PEEAMfourians that is to pursue medicine at Edinburgh. This decision came about after i had a personal revelation speaking with God. Quite simply, to do God's will. And how, it is by being the first one on the ground helping and healing those in need. I do plan to join the NGO Medicins Sans Frontiere when i graduate, go to places where people are living in poverty and do not even get proper healthcare. At the same time i would get to see the world, and see things from a different perspective of life.

And again, the road more often taken, i will choose to specialize. and a particular interest as of now, Neurology. haha. gosh. even talking about it sends shivers. (imagine the amount of time i would spend indulging in text books picking up this field). But yes, this is just something I am thinking of having been inspired by Oliver Sacks and his stories and realizing that this is a field with so much more potential to be tapped out of.(for the knowledge we know about how our brain functions is actually very shallow as of now)

Soon after, i will either choose to be a

i) WHO Director GEneral just like what Dr Margaret CHan is now. I definitely want to make a difference and when i say that, i mean a global difference. And it is by assuming such a high position that i believe we'll be able to do it. (she was the health director of HK who manage to curb avian flu prior to assuming that position)

ii) Get involved in Politics. Why? Because again, i come to realize that i want to bring changes to this country. I want to do something for this country i have lived in for 18 years. And again, it is by assuming such a position, you will have the power to do and bring major reforms. (of course, if i would like to do this, i would have to pick up many dilagues =p including TAMIL)

iii) Be the CEo of a health care company. If i were to do this, i would be looking at earning tonnes of money in which i would use to be a philanthropist myself. And what would i do with the money? Again helping those less fortunate than us (in our own country primarily) and those in poverty stricken regions like Africa. (this would require me to take up an MBA)

I end here.

p.s. It was a very emotional parting session for me today. I am glad i will still be able to see you guys a couple more times before we part ways. And i hope that whatever time we have remaining, we'll be able to make the most of it.

p.p.s it has been within this period of one and a half years i've grown and matured as a person in terms of thoughts more than i have ever done so in my life.

p.p.p.s one more post will follow this one in due time. =)

Your friend always,

Ken Vin Lek.

WELCOME MISS YAP

Welcome Miss Yap to a world you have never known existed. You would have got this address from that very nice gift we peeamfourians got for you.

we would think that you would guess that we were already tak betul a little when we started playing dress-up

Jason getting pregnant

daniel having big assets and showing them off unceremoniously in a bathrobe

Timothy dressing up and making up as a 90 year old woman

This blogspot has been running for months but we knew the wisdom of keeping this very pleasant surprise from you until we all say our goodbyes.

From the start of this blog, we have always been theorizing whether you were aware of the existence of this blog ( Note: If you are one who is fond of googling yourself, then ... hint..hint...)

Anyway, without beating around the bush, welcome Miss Yap to the blogspot of a class who have not really got the right screws in the right places up there.

We have spun numerous tales of distant lands and fantastical circumstances throughout our 1 and a half years at Taylor's, of which unfortunately, only a small fraction (the milder ones : smirk) is documented in this blog.

We hope that this blog will only bring two things:

1) As a means of contact and fellowship among the peeamfourians and you. We will continue to update this blog, spinning either tales that don't quite make sense or more serious commentaries which are classified as "State of the PM4 Commentaries". We sincerely hope that you will continually check this blog, comment once in a while and pour attention on your 23 beloved hunks and models , especially those who need it the most... read: Ko :P

2) As a record of events be a truly awesome class, that will one day do great things. We want you Miss Yap, to open this blogspot 20 years later and see articles documenting each of the 23 models and hunks making this world a better place and then click on the archives to find in great horror the nonsense these 23 hunky and model-ly superheroes of the world once wrote and spoke of.
NOw, Teacher, be also proud that you have one more thing to show off to your colleagues :P

I am also proud to say that we have not deleted a single thing from this blog before presenting it to you (although we did practise discretion on what goes up at first :P)

I thus end with the hope that we will not break such endothermic bonds with such a fantastic teacher.

And we hope you do not find reason or enough energy to break those bonds too...

LOVE

PM4

PS: WE hope nothing is offensive on this blog. All the stories are borne out for our immense love for our class mates and lecturers. If at all anything is found to be offensive, we sincerely apologise. WE do not want untoward incidences of certificates being withheld afterall... (a grin and a smirk)

& the Lowya Buluk speaks

Dear beloved classmates,

Flattered as I am by the attention bestowed upon me - which our dear Tok Bomoh claims is an honour that has thus far only been awarded to the demigod & Jarley - & touched as I am by the concern you all (ie. Tok Kong Bomoh, the tutor, the Donut-taker, Aminah, Ah Wa [or is it Ah Pieng? The horny one lah basically], Lau Bu & Jarley) seem to have over my single status, I would like to once & for all state clearly that unlike Jarley, I do not crave attention in such a manner as you have seen fit to give me.

There are many reasons why my tolerance level went past the threshold level today, none of them being anywhere close to the suggestion that it may be because I like a certain someone whose name shall not be revealed. I have laughed off the past year of jokes as much as I could, but today, it has surpassed the threshold frequency & the electrons orbitting around me are already threatening to go off course. I am afraid of what might happen if they do - they might hit someone or might cause me to emit radiation, fates which I do not wish upon anyone in the class as I love you all too much.

My reasons are simple.

One, because it is a lie, a fabrication based on nothing but wild imagination. Which is fine, seeing as most of our Family stories revolve around such nonsensical fantastical things. But not when it has gone overboard to the point it is today or involves an outsider unfamiliar to the Ways of the NL Family. On top of that, this fabrication is totally, completely, & utterly baseless - unlike the other plots concocted by us, which always had some small element of fact in them (even if only 1.0 x 10^-30 per cent).

Two, because it is a matter of reputation. Said outsiders who are unfamiliar to the Ways of the NL Family might get the impression that my humble Lowya Buluk self is a desperate bachelorette who talks about nothing but relationships all day & thus causing the whole Family to also talk about the same topic. This may seem far-fetched, but it is a highly logical conclusion that can be easily made if the facts available to you are limited to "this class always talks about ___ & ___". Just because our Family frequently discusses the topic of ___ & ___'s relationship does not mean it can be confirmed as truth, but others might not know that it is mere speculation. I do not wish to be known as desperate or frivolous, thus this reason.

There are other reasons, but I will not bog you down with them. I believe that these two reasons are sufficient to make my stand clear & to make you understand my position.

I refuse to tolerate this any longer & if it were to come up in the future, I will not stand by & listen to it & laugh along as I always have. My threshold frequency is evidently lower than Ah Chai's.

Thus, I seek your co-operation & understanding in this.

If all else fails, I will have to resort to drastic measures. Do not force me to invoke the name of the demigod.

Yours in NL,

Lowya Buluk
A-Zhen & Co.

Our Big Brother Jason Chai's " A Close to another Chapter"

18 months of hard work, Ms Yap infatuation and good fun is coming to an end (not to mention the family ties: sisters, husband, mother, grandmother, employers and employees of the Nyoke Lee Family). I’m sure it has been a learning curve and an experience not to forget for everyone.

More importantly is what we take back from this chapter of our lives. Beyond the lame jokes, the diverse impersonations and random insults, there is definitely something more to “life as a peeamfourian”.

I’ll definitely remember the various food places in SS15, the good and the not so good. One of them being Madam Joyce Eatery which started off as a small “chap fan” shop at H20 drinking stall and has ever since been a daily stop for lunch till now. Nah, I’m not going to bore you bout the different foods and what to eat and what not to. I’ll be writing a mini biography of Madam Joyce herself (please dun turn her into another god :D).

She started working ever since she was in school (can’t remember what exactly) and furthered her studies in hotel management locally first and finally in Switzerland, working part-time. She was actually involved in the management of the First World Hotel in Genting. As her husband was involved in construction, she too helped in site management, etc.

Madam Joyce was a lady of many talents. She then moved on to the food business where she started off selling on the streets and was later spotted by the H2O drinking station people who asked her to set up the stall at SS15.

She said that cooking has always been the passion and finally she was able to pursue it. In fact, she was asked to cook Malaysian food at the Venetian in Macau but turned it down. Instead, she chose to come here. Many people may wonder why tire herself at such an age (her daughter is already married) to cook? She enjoys cooking because it gives her satisfaction that people enjoy her food, people like us. Cooking was initially just her hobby where she would entertain her friends but now she has a bigger audience, a bigger group of food tasters: lecturers, students and working adults of SS15.

Her plan for the future is to travel the world not to enjoy beautiful sceneries or historical places but to unselfishly help the poor in places such as India.

The moral of the story as cliché as it sounds is that we should learn from people like this who dare to pursue their passion, who have the guts to step out of their comfort zone to try something new which has always been dear to their hearts. Let not our dreams we have as children fade away but let us realize our long-standing ambitions. Let us hold true to the innocent dreams we have untainted by remarks from people around us and the world. But also grow from experiences to be able to put these dreams into reality.

I believe each of us is different, one of a kind and with the potential to make a difference in this world. As the chapter in Taylor’s College is coming to a close and a new one beginning, don’t forget the experiences we have had, the lessons learnt and the friendships made. Time belongs to no man and it is inevitable that we all have to move on but everything has its own time. There is a time for friendships to be made, a time for relationships to form and for some to be broken. There is a time where we learn from our failures and a time to rejoice in our triumph. There is a time to teach and a time to learn from others. There is a time for joy and a time for disappointments. It’s a never-ending journey of learning and discovery and in two months, it will be time for all of us to part our separate ways.

But nonetheless, we are all peeamfourians at heart and shall always cherish the every moment we have had together.
